If you are planning on flying Virgin Atlantic Airlines, consider booking your flights with their first class service. This review will help you find out if it is worth the extra cost to fly business class on Virgin Atlantic.
Writing a review of an airline business class flight is not always easy because the company is constantly updating their inflight services and amenities. As the best airline in Europe, Virgin Atlantic does a great job at keeping their passengers happy without breaking the bank. They have some of the most comfortable seats in Europe, including flat-bed seats that have individual ottomans as well as access to light meals and drinks throughout your flight.
One thing that Virgin Atlantic does not offer, however, is a selection of TV channels. This is one of the top features that I look for in business class because it provides me with a chance to catch up on my favorite TV shows. This feature was not available on my flight from Heathrow London to New York JFK airport. Because of this, I spent most of my flight actually reading the Virgin Atlantic inflight magazine instead of watching TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” (I understand their reasons for this decision, but I just wanted to watch something.)
The seats on Virgin Atlantic flights have numerous legroom, but the seats are not reclining. This is a big turn-off for me because I like to lay down and sleep during my flight, but their comfort allows me to do so without my legs hurting or cramping up. I love that the back of their chairs have storage space so I am able to store all of my items in the seat back pocket rather than having them crowd around on small, plastic trays — which is what happens on other airlines.
Even though Virgin Atlantic does not offer an extensive selection of TV channels, they make up for it by offering Wi-Fi access that allows you to surf the internet while you are in the air. If you have not already heard of this, it is a great way to stay connected with your family, friends and work while you are on the go. All you have to do is sign up for Wi-Fi access before your flight takes off and connect once you get on the plane.
The food they offer in their business class section is delicious and plentiful. These meals include fresh seafood that is cooked to perfection, but be prepared for some foods that may not be what you are used to — like their red snapper fish that comes with lime sauce.
Are there any additional benefits for frequent flyers on Virgin Atlantic?
Yes. There are a number of different Virgin programs that reward frequent flyers with free flights, hotel stays and upgrades to other service levels. The most popular rewards program is the Flying Club. This program allows you to earn points that can be used to upgrade your seat (or your friend’s seat) on Virgin Atlantic flights as well as other partners like South African Airways and American Airlines.
How do I get the most out of my points?
There are several ways to maximize your rewards. The most popular method of doing so is to take advantage of the program’s reward flights. The reward flights are a great way to fly for free because they tend to be long distance flights that you might not otherwise take. If you are flying from London to Los Angeles, for example, you can use your rewards points to upgrade the seat in front of you instead of booking a completely different flight.
Another great way to earn points is through their frequent flyer credit card. The Virgin Atlantic credit card allows you to earn points that can be redeemed for free flights, upgrades and other products as well as special upgrades like newspaper retrieval, seat selection and baggage allowance.
I think that Virgin Atlantic Business Class is a great option for first-class travelers that want comfort and luxury, but not necessarily a huge selection of TV channels. If you are looking for an airline to upgrade your business class experience with, I highly recommend checking out their service.
